Ground Crew Member

Responsibilities:
Site Preparation: Assist in preparing work sites by clearing debris, setting up safety barriers, and securing equipment as directed by the crew leader.
Debris Management: Safely collect and remove branches, logs, and other tree debris using hand tools, chainsaws, and chipper machines.
Equipment Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and cleaning tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.
Communication: Communicate effectively with crew members, following instructions and providing assistance as needed to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and members of the public, representing the company in a positive light.
Team Support: Provide support to tree climbers and arborists by guiding ropes, handling rigging, and securing branches during tree removal or pruning operations.
Continuous Learning: Stay informed about industry best practices, safety standards, and company policies through ongoing training and development opportunities.
Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the crew leader or management to support overall team objectives and project requirements.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in landscaping, forestry, or related outdoor work preferred but not required.
Must have experience in chainsaw operation.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and operating power tools.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures.
Valid driver's license with clean or near-clean driving record and reliable transportation required
Applicants must pass a screening for illegal substances to be considered for employment
A background check is required, though past criminal history will not necessarily disqualify applicants from consideration.
Proficiency in English at an intermediate level or above is required
Applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly and be prepared to work under various weather conditions.
We are based in Brookfield, NY, and operate within a 30-mile radius. You must be willing to commute to Brookfield or provide your own transportation to job sites within our territory
Schedule, Hours & Pay:
20-40 hours per week, may fluctuate based on season or weather conditions.
Work starts between 7 - 8 am, punctuality required, Monday-Friday, occasional weekend hours as needed.
$15.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on experience
